Dr. Kam was the first author of the Arctic warming report (Chapter 7 of the BAMS 2017 Explaining Extreme Events (EEE) special issue) finding that according to climate model simulations, the highly anomalous Arctic warmth during November-December 2016 most likely would bot have been possible without anthropogenic forcing. He was also the co-author of the Global warming report (Chapter 3) finding that the 2016 record global warmth was only possible to substantial centennial-scale anthropogenic warming. Dr. Kam has participated in the BAMS EEE special issues over the past three years when he worked at GFDL as a postdoctoral research associate. |
Two reports about global and Arctic warming in 2016 were released in the BAMS December issue.1/5/2018
